Day 1 (Door to Door)

Arrive Istanbul

Enjoy your private car door to door transfer to your departure airport before your flight to Istanbul.Welcome to Turkey - a land rich in archaeological sites, historic monuments, warm-hearted people and an enormous variety of spectacular scenery. On arrival at Istanbul Airport, we are met and transferred to our hotel. This evening, join your Tour Director and fellow guests for a Welcome Drink.

Day 2

Istanbul - Bursa

This morning we take a short ferry trip and drive to the charming Cumalikizik Village with its traditional wooden houses, and narrow cobblestone streets. We continue to Bursa for our overnight stay. There is time this afternoon to visit the glorious Green Mosque and Mausoleum complex, the Grand Mosque, the Bazaar and colourful Silk Market. Tonight you might like to experience a Turkish bath at your hotel. (BB, D)

Day 3

Bursa - Pamukkale

We drive to Sardis, where we visit the Synagogue, Roman Gymnasium and the Temple of Artemis. Next we continue to Pamukkale, famous for its 'Cotton Castle', a dazzling chalk-white array of fantastically shaped limestone terraces. We visit the ruins of ancient Hierapolis and the fairyland terraces and see the glistening pools and cascades in scallop-shell basins. (BB, D)

Day 4

Pamukkale - Izmir

Today we journey to the ruined city of Ephesus and view the marvellous facade of the Library of Celsus, walk the Arcadian Way and see the amazing Amphitheatre. We also visit the House of the Virgin Mary. At the Archaeological Museum in nearby Selçuk we can marvel at many of the artefacts excavated from Ephesus. After visiting a Turkish carpet centre it's on to the pretty port city of Izmir. (BB, D)

Day 5

Izmir - Çanakkale

We first stop in Pergamon, the impressive site of an ancient kingdom, to visit the Asklepion, one of the most famous shrines and therapeutic centres in the ancient world. We then drive to Homer's legendary city of Troy to visit the ruins and see an enormous reconstruction of the fabledWooden Horse.We stay tonight in the seaport of Çanakkale, on the southern side of the Dardanelles at their narrowest point. Day 6

Çannakale - Istanbul (2)

This morning we cross the Dardanelles Straits and drive to the Gallipoli Peninsula to visit Anzac Cove and the emotive Lone Pine Cemetery. We then return to Istanbul. Upon arrival we embark on a superb highlight cruise along the Bosphorus Waterway. (BB)

Day 7

Istanbul sightseeing

Today we admire the Blue Mosque with its beautiful tiles and the Hippodrome where Roman chariot races were held. We visit St Sophia, at one time a cathedral and a mosque and now a magnificent museum. Next we move on to Topkapi Palace where some of the world's biggest emeralds and diamonds are on display.We finish our tour among the 4,000 shops, cafés and tea houses of the Grand Bazaar. Don't worry, our guide will give us a full explanation of the time-honoured ritual of bargaining! Tonight we enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a lively restaurant. (BB, FD)

Day 8 (Door to Door)

Depart Istanbul

The tour ends with transfers to Istanbul International Airport for your return flight back to the UK. On arrival at your UK airport, your driver will greet you and escort you to your waiting private car for your door to door transfer to your home. (BB)

Located in the city just 3km from downtown, facilities include indoor, outdoor and children's pools, tennis, gym, sauna, Turkish bath, four restaurants and seven bars.

Barceló Eresin Topkapi (FC)

Located in the Old City centre, on the European side of Istanbul, facilities include, the Picasso restaurant with its gourmet days and delicious Turkish and international cuisine and a spa.

Thermal Kervansaray (FC)

This is the most favoured hotel in Bursa and is located in the city centre. Facilities include two restaurants, a lobby bar, a roof bar and a swimming pool.

Swissotel Grand Efes (SFC)

Located in the heart of the Izmir's commercial hub and overlooking the spectacular Kordon Promenade, on Turkey's Aegean Sea, the hotel is set in 40 thousand square meters of landscaped gardens. Exclusive to hotel guests is the Amrita fitness centre and spa, offering luxurious Eastern and Western therapies. Hotel guests can also enjoy indoor and outdoor swimming pools as well as a saltwater pool. Sun loungers and parasols are laid out for use. A gym, studios, an ice room, steam baths, Turkish baths, Jacuzzi, sauna and massage treatments are also available

Pam Thermal (FC)

Surrounded by pine forests and green gardens, this thermal hotel is situated on a hillside. The hotel features a spa centre, outdoor pool and thermal spring travertines with healing red water. All rooms feature a balcony with forest, garden or pool views. Turkish cuisine can be enjoyed at the spacious restaurant. Aromatherapy and hydrotherapy are provided in the thermal baths for health, beauty and healing. Guests can also relax with massages, or benefit from the steam bath and sauna of the spa centre
