Day 3
Ho Chi Minh City sightseeing
We travel outside the bustling metropolis to explore the incredible subterranean complex of the Cu Chi Tunnels.We then tour a local rubber plantation and visit a lacquer ware studio to learn from the artisans about the country's longstanding artistic traditions. Back in town we embark on an orientation tour of one of Asia's fastest-growing urban areas. This evening, join your fellow travellers for a festive Welcome Dinner of traditional food accompanied by live music. (BB, L, HD)

Day 4
Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong River Cruise (7)
In the atmospheric riverside village of My Tho we board the River Saigon and set sail along the Mekong, passing coconut groves, brilliant green rice paddies and mango trees.We transfer to a traditional flat-bottomed sampan to enjoy a cruise through the Cai Be district with its floating market. We disembark for a guided tour of An Kiet House to learn about traditional Vietnamese architecture. Then it's just a short walk to visit a factory that makes rice paper and delicious coconut candy. Back on the ship we enjoy a sumptuous Welcome Reception and Vietnamese Highlight Dinner. (BB, L, HD)
Day 5
Cruising the Mekong River
We cruise through the narrow canals of Sa Dec for a closeup view of life on the river and visit a factory where craftsmen create bricks and tiles before taking a guided tour of an elegant, turn-of-the-century house. We return to the ship for a relaxing lunch before visiting the island of Cu Lao Gien, home to one of the oldest cathedrals in Vietnam. (BB, L, D)

Cruising the Mekong River
We explore the vibrant port of Chau Doc with its floating markets and brightly coloured fishing boats. Next, immerse yourself in the spiritual side of Vietnam at holy Sam Mountain, which attracts pilgrims from all over the country. Back on board, celebrate your Mekong River cruise with dinner andmaybe some stargazing before you retire. (BB, L, D)

Cruising the Mekong River
Early this morning we arrive in the capital city of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Delve into some of the country's darkest days at a sombre memorial to the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng, a museum dedicated to preserving the history of the Cambodian genocide.We then move from the darkness of the past into the now-peaceful streets of Phnom Penh on a relaxing cyclo ride. We visit the splendid Silver Pagoda, the Royal Palace and the National Museum, which houses some of the finest artefacts from the great city of Angkor. (BB, L, D)
Day 8
Cruising the Yangtze River
We head north from Phnom Penh along the Tonlé Sap River to the lovely riverside village of Kampong Chhnang. We enjoy a short walking tour of the fish market and other attractions before reboarding the River Saigon. (BB, L, D)

Cruising the Yangtze River
Get a taste of rural Cambodian life today as we visit the small village of Chong Koh, where we are welcomed into a private home as well as the primary school. Then go even further off the beaten path in the tiny town of Angkor Ban where we get a glimpse inside some traditional Khmer homes and tour a small Buddhist monastery. (BB, L, D)
Day 10
Cruising the Yangtze River
This morning we ascend the hilltop temple complex ofWat Hanchey for views over the Mekong and a traditional blessing from the orange-robed monks. We then climb the hills of Phnom Pros, for beautiful views, and Phnom Srey, home to temple ruins and some inquisitive monkeys. We continue our explorations at the 11th-century temple of Nokor Bachey. Back on the ship, relish a festive Royal Cambodian Highlight Dinner. (BB, L, HD)

Siem Reap (3)
Bid farewell to the Mekong this morning as we disembark and transfer to Siem Reap, gateway to the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor. We take an orientation tour and enjoy some time at leisure. This evening, gather in the lovely courtyard of the hotel for an Apsara performance followed by a delicious alfresco Highlight Dinner. Day 12
Angkor Wat sightseeing
We begin today at the magnificent temple complex of Angkor Wat, the national symbol of Cambodia and one of the most impressive religious structures in the world. Continuing our guided tour after lunch, we also see the pyramid-temple of Bayon; the Terrace of the Elephants; and the lovely South Gate of Angkor Thom. (BB, L)

Angkor Wat sightseeing
This morning we venture into the jungle to see the atmospheric temple of Ta Prohm. We then ascend the mountain of Ta Keo for views over the sprawling Angkor complex; stroll through Preah Khan, which was a Buddhist university; and examine the delicate carvings of the sandstone jewel, Banteay Srei. This evening, celebrate your explorations of Angkor with a lively Highlight Dinner and live entertainment at a local French-Indonesian restaurant. (BB, HD)

Day 14
Siem Reap - Hanoi (2)
After a leisurely morning, we head to the airport for the flight to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Spend the afternoon and evening as you like - maybe stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, take in a water puppet show or visit the Hanoi Museum of Fine Arts. (BB)

Day 15
Hanoi sightseeing
On our tour of Hanoi we visit the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, a shrine to one of the country's heroes. Spend some time in contemplation of One-Pillar Pagoda, an iconic temple built in the traditional style, and learn about the importance of education in Vietnamese culture at the Confucian Temple of Literature. This afternoon, kick back on a private cyclo tour of the lovely, tree-lined streets. Toast your Tour Director and fellow travellers this evening at a festive Farewell Dinner. (BB, FD)

We transfer to Hanoi International Airport for your return flight back to the UK. On arrival at your UK airport, your driver will greet you and escort you to your waiting private car for your door to door transfer to your home.
