Day 1 (Door to Door)

Enjoy your private car door to door transfer to your departure airport before your flight to Munich. Relax after check-in and later enjoy an evening orientation drive including views of the Olympic Stadium. This evening, meet for a Welcome Drink with your fellow travellers and Tour Director.

Day 2

Munich sightseeing and at leisure

Munich is a lively, prosperous medieval city, a perfect blend of traditional and modern. We see the sights during our morning orientation including the Hofbräuhaus, Marienplatz, Ludwigstrasse and the majestic Opera House. Spend free time afterwards exploring on your own. Visit galleries and museums, shop for souvenirs or consider an optional excursion to the infamous Dachau Concentration Camp. Munich has a proud history of brewing and this evening you might like to join your companions for a night out at a local beer hall. (BB)

Day 3

Munich - Oberammergau - Neuschwanstein Castle - Innsbruck (2)

In Oberammergau we visit the theatre where the Passion play has been performed every decade since 1633 when Europe was gripped by plague. We then drive into the scenic Bavarian mountains and arrive by horse and carriage at Neuschwanstein Castle. We experience a guided tour of this fortress, built in the 19th century for King Ludwig on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau. We arrive later at the resort of Innsbruck where we will enjoy dinner at our hotel. (BB, D)

Day 4

Innsbruck sightseeing and at leisure

Our orientation includes views of theWilten Basilica, Golden Roof and the Hofburg Palace. The rest of the day is at leisure. Explore medieval lanes, visit world-class museums and Hapsburg palaces or simply relax and admire this dazzling city set against a spectacular Alpine backdrop. Tonight you might like to see a traditional Tyrolean folklore show. (BB)

Day 5

Innsbruck - Berchtsgaden - Salzburg (2)

We continue through the picturesque valley of the River Inn and pass the Wilder Kaiser Mountain. We visit the National Park of Berchtesgaden, featuring awe-inspiring mountains and a deep glacial lake and continue on to Salzburg. (BB)

Day 6

Salzburg sightseeing and at leisure

We see the city's sights with our expert local Guide including the Getreidegasse, Salzburg Cathedral, Mozart's birthplace and many of the locations used in the film The Sound of Music. Afterwards, discover the delights of Salzburg for yourself. Visit a museum or go shopping for souvenirs. This evening, enjoy a Be My Guest dinner at a local Gasthof. (BB)

Day 7

Salzburg - Vienna (3)

We first visit the Church in Mondsee where the marriage of Captain Von Trapp and Maria was filmed for 'The Sound of Music'. The we traverse the Salzkammergut, a picturesque region of mountains and lakes, whose salt deposits brought great wealth to the area before continuing via the Wachau Valley to see Melk Abbey, one of the world's greatest monastic sites. We arrive later in Vienna. (BB)

Day 8

Vienna sightseeing and ViennaWoods excursion

Today our expert local guide reveals the city'smajor landmarks and palaces during our included morning sightseeing tour. The Imperial Boulevards lead to views of the Opera House, the Hofburg Palace, the Parliament and St. Stephen's Cathedral. The magic continues with a walking tour through the oldest parts of the city near 'AmHof'. Free time later is an opportunity to indulge in famous pastries like the delicious Sacher Torte. This afternoon we enjoy a scenic drive to Mayerling in the Vienna Woods to view the hunting lodge where Crown Prince Rudolph and his young mistress tragically died in 1898. (BB)

Day 9

Vienna at leisure

Spend the day as you wish. Use your complimentary 'hopon hop-off' sightseeing ticket to discover a wealth of historic and cultural delights. Museums, palaces, galleries, cafés, memorials to famous composers - Vienna has it all. This evening, join your travelling companions and Tour Director for a Farewell Dinner. (BB, FD)

Day 10 (Door to Door)

Depart Vienna

Say goodbye to your newfound friends at the end of an unforgettable holiday. Airport transfers are available to Vienna International Airport for your return flight back to the UK. On arrival at your UK airport, your driver will greet you and escort you to your waiting private car for your door to door transfer to your home. (BB)

The Europa is located in the centre of Salzburg within walking distance of Mirabell Gardens and the Congress centre. Enjoy dinner in the 15th floor restaurant or relax in the inviting bar.
