Arrive Las Vegas
Enjoy your private car door to door transfer to your departure airport before your flight to Las Vegas. A complimentary transfer is provided to the tour hotel. Your Tour Director is available at the hotel this afternoon to greet you and answer your questions. At 6pm, gather at the hotel with your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Drink.

Las Vegas - Zion National Park - Bryce Canyon National Park
We depart Las Vegas for the graceful slot canyons and towering cliffs of Zion National Park. Then it's onward to Bryce Canyon, home to the world's largest concentration of hoodoos - tall limestone spires that rise majestically from the desert floor. (FB, D)

Bryce - Salt Lake City
We leave the red rock canyons and travel north to Utah's capital. We see the famed Temple Square, headquarters to the Mormon church and home to the renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir. This evening, perhaps enjoy an optional visit to Brigham Young's former home, followed by dinner at the Lion House, featuring pioneer-style ambiance and cuisine. (FB)

Salt Lake City - Jackson
Get a glimpse of the route of the pioneers as we cross the Oregon Trail and enter Wyoming. Scenic Jackson stands in the shadows of the icy peaks of the Grand Tetons. This evening, join your Tour Director and travelling companions for a Highlight Dinner. (FB, HD)

Jackson - Grand Teton National Park - Yellowstone National Park (2)
Perhaps rise early for an optional guided raft trip to spot wildlife on the Snake River (seasonal). We then traverse Grand Teton National Park on the way to Yellowstone, established in 1872 as the world's first national park. We join a local expert to explore the spouting geysers, bubbling hot springs and mud paint pots.(When the South Entrance is closed due to weather conditions, the tour will travel west from Jackson via Idaho and enter Yellowstone National Park through the West Entrance.) Yellowstone National Park sightseeing
We explore the impressive Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone with its stunning waterfalls and perhaps enjoy a chance to see bison and elk. Watch in wonder as Old Faithful's waters arc nearly 130 feet into the air. This evening, relax under the great basin of stars. (FB)

Yellowstone - Cody - Billings
Today we head north to the town of Cody, named after its most famous native son, Buffalo Bill. Get a glimpse into its lively history at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Then it's on to Big Sky Country for a unique BeMy Guest Cowboy Dinner. As we dine on down-home cooking, a cowboy entertainer regales us with tales and songs of life in the saddle. Maybe take a quick harmonica lesson, toss some horseshoes, or even don some traditional cowboy duds! (FB)

Billings - Little Bighorn - Rapid City (2)
Today begins with a visit to Little Big Horn, where Custer led his 263 men against several thousand Sioux and Cheyenne warriors. We then travel east through the Black Hills to arrive in Rapid City. (FB)

Black Hills excursion
Discover the natural andmanmade wonders of the Black Hills with a drive through stunning scenery on the way to visit to Mount Rushmore and the Crazy HorseMemorial, amountain carving of the famed war chief of the Oglala people. We return to Rapid City this afternoon for some leisure time. (FB)

Denver - Vail - Arches National Park - Moab
This morning we ascend into the Rockies and stretch our legs in Vail before descending to magnificent Arches National Park. Here, the wind and rain have eroded the sandstone into more than 2,000 natural arches. We end today's journey at our riverside lodge. Tonight is at your leisure - perhaps opt for taking in the sunset over the red cliffs and a western barbecue dinner right at your ranchstyle lodge. Or if you're in the mood for more excitement, opt for a thrilling jetboat ride along the mighty Colorado, with a Cowboy Barbecue dinner all included as well. (FB)

Moab - Mesa Verde National Park - Kayenta
Between AD 600 and 1300, the Ancestral Puebloan people carved houses and entire cities out of the sandstone of the canyon walls at Mesa Verde National Park, now a UNESCO site. We explore some of the cliff-top buildings and look down at the massive Cliff House, the largest cliff dwelling in the world. Stay the night in the tiny Navajo town of Kayenta. (FB, D)

Kayenta - Monument Valley - Grand Canyon National Park
Marvel at Monument Valley's landscape of towering sandstone buttes in special open-air vehicles accompanied by a local guide. We visit the home of the Navajo people, stopping at historic Cameron Trading Post. Breathtaking views along Scenic Desert View Drive just hint at the most spectacular of all vistas - the vast panorama of the Grand Canyon unfolding before you. We meet with a local expert who will enlighten us about the more than two billion years of geology revealed in the canyon. Then gather with your fellow travellers to watch the sunset, the fading light gilding the canyon and casting enchanting shadows. Tonight, toast your grand adventure and your new life-long memories at a Farewell Dinner inside the park. (FB, FD)

Grand Canyon - Las Vegas (2)
If you like, take an optional helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft flightseeing trip to see the canyon from the sky.We then hit the road again, stopping in Seligman and Kingman, Route 66 hotspots that have kept the old Mother Road's culture alive. We then head back to Las Vegas for a leisurely twonight independent conclusion to your tour, exclusive to Milestones customers. (FB)

Jackson - Snake River Float Trip through Grand Teton National Park
This gentle 10-mile float trip runs entirely within Grand Teton National Park, and covers the most scenic stretch of the Snake River within the entire Jackson Hole Valley. The Snake River is a lifeline to bison, elk, moose, beaver, pronghorn, deer, bear, and 300 different species of birds, including osprey and eagles. It offers lush willows to feed on, deep-water pools to swim in and groves of aspen to wander through. Rapid City - Bear Country USA, Keystone Shopping & Evening Lighting
Our first stop is Bear Country USA, a wildlife park featuring the world's largest private collection of American Black Bear. Enjoy the leisurely 3-mile drive through this spectacular and unique wildlife park nestled on 250 acres. Then, there is time to walk-through the Wildlife Center where young and smaller animals frolic in their outdoor exhibits. We then continue to the quaint Black Hills town of Keystone where you'll have time for shopping and dinner (own expense) - please note that dinner may be at Mount Rushmore due to seasonal sunset time. We then go to Mt. Rushmore to see the Mount Rushmore Lighting Ceremony. The 30-minute program consists of a short ranger talk, a film about the four presidents on the mountain, the playing of the National Anthem and the lighting of this great sculpture. Adult: $46.00
Las Vegas - Hoover Dam Excursion
Hoover Dam is one of the most famous examples of man's ability to harness nature for the benefit of providing electricity and water to one of the hottest driest places in the United States. Relax in a modern motorcoach through Boulder City and Lake Mead for a 2 hour stay at Hoover Dam. You will have access to the Visitor's Center, exhibit area, museum and movie room. Then take a 70-second elevator ride 530 feet down through the rock wall of Black Canyon to begin a 35- minute guided tour. You'll exit the elevator into a tunnel drilled in the 1930s for construction, and take a short walk to the Penstock Viewing Platform. This location is atop one (of four) of the huge 30-footdiameter pipes that can transport nearly 90,000 gallons of water each second from Lake Mead to the dam's hydroelectric generators. A quick elevator ride up to the Nevada powerplant balcony takes you to a panoramic view of the 650-foot-long Nevada wing of the powerplant and eight of the dam's 17 huge generators. The decision to brochure our tours without the cost of international flights included was due to customer feedback and to offer greater choice.
We have since come to appreciate that many other clients like to see a fully packaged price, which is why for January 2012 we are pleased to reintroduce the cost of international flights back into our portfolio of products.

Unexpected heavy snow did not prevent our entry into Yellowstone Park and actually improved the experience whilst there.This was thanks largely to the experience of our coach driver and determination of our tour manager to get us in. -

Wonderful tour in all respects. Exceeded our expectations, tour guide and driver were superb. Would suggest however that people joining the tour from UK perhaps get there the day before so that they are able to attend welcome meeting. Useful info at this meeting for start of tour. Missed by us as flight scheduled arrival did not us in Vegas for this Pleased to see new hotel in Vegas for next year as the Hilton was a little tired. -

Tour guide Tom Williams and driver Paul Hooper were both first class in all areas. The only low point of the tour was Deadwood. We would rather have spent more time at the Buffalo Bill museum. Apart from the short tour of Deadwood, with a very funny commentary from the driver, and the plaques on the wall about the death of Wild Bill Hickock, Deadwood didn't have much to offer. Overall, though, a great tour, if exhausting! One thing though, we had a photograph taken of everyone on the tour while we were in Salt Lake City, but have not so far received a copy. -

Jordan (our tour guide) was exceptional at organising things, was very pleasant and likeable and very knowledgable in all aspects of the tour. The breaks and meals were very well organised. I would also like to thank Stan (the driver) - he was also excellant, safe and considerate.
One point I would like to mention - When we were on the tour around Monument Valley, because we were running a bit late in the day, both Stan and Jordon took the coach on to our hotel to drop off our luggage then returned to our Monument Valley tour to pick us up - just so that when we got back to the hotel, our bags were already in our rooms so that we did not have to wait. - THATS WHAT I CALL SERVICE.
Although a bit hectic at times (but then again thats what the brochure and itinerary tell you) I can thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone who's interested. Jordan even gave us all a CD with loads of photographs of the tour -

This was very well managed. We were kept informed of all events and received all the paperwork correct and on time. Because I was unsure regarging case sizes, I phoned Stacey in the office, she in turn phoned Trafalgar, and got back to me with an answer in no time at all. -

Fantastic introduction to the landscape, wild life and history of the American West. Able to stay inside some of the Parks overnight which puts this tour above many competitiors. Although constantly on the move to cover everything made one rather tired at the end it was worthwhile. Never felt shortchanged at any of the stopovers or sites visited. AND saw a grizzly bear at Yellowstone! probably the most interesting trip done to date. Highly recommended. -

The trip was excellent and covered a huge area of America. On occasions when there was an extra long coach journey the tour guide filled the time with a variety of other activities to cover the time - these often related to what we had seen or where we were travelling. We were surprised that the tour had more Americans and Australians than British people on it, but this added to the enjoyment as it showed us the different ways in which different nationalities reacted to different events. Overall an enjoyable holiday with some fantastic sites to visit and see. -

A stunning tour. All went very smoothly.. The driver and tour director were outstanding. The high milage went past quickly, thanks to the stunning scenery and mix of the group. All optional excursions were value for money.For me the only negative was that it included las Vegas - but then that's me!! -
