Day 1 (Door to Door)
Arrive Lima
Enjoy your luxury private car door to door transfer to your departure airport before your scheduled flight to Lima, where a transfer is provided to your first hotel.

Day 2
Lima
A sightseeing tour begins with a delicious "You'rePersonally Invited" lunch served at Casa Diez Canesco. Take a tour of the private home of the Diez Canesco family, listening to stories of the Spanish conquerors and Peruvian Presidents, from which the family descends. After a delicious three course lunch we head to the Plaza Mayor, with its Colonial era treasures, the Government Palace, the cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace. Next we continue to the 16th century San Francisco Monastery whose cloisters are adorned with tiles from Seville. Afterwards we return to the hotel with the rest of the evening free. (HL)

Day 3
Lima - Cuzco - Sacred Valley
We fly to Cuzco and head into the Sacred Valley to stop at the market in Pisac. There is time to bargain for arts and crafts before driving across the Valley. At Ollantaytambo, a walking tour introduces you to the quaint village. Just outside of town, admire the ruins of a mighty Inca fortress before travelling to your hotel in Urubamba. (B, L, D)

Day 4
Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu
We transfer to the train station for the Vistadome Valley train journey to Machu Picchu (please note that only hand luggage may be carried on board and your suitcase will be transferred to Cuzco and stored). There is time to explore the magnificent ruins of the "Lost City of the Incas" on your own after a guided walking tour with a local expert. (B, L, D)

Day 5
Machu Picchu - Cuzco
Return to Machu Picchu with your local guide for last impressions of this extraordinary monument. Hiking enthusiasts may want to climb Huayna Picchu. Later, we travel by train and coach back to Cuzco. (B, L)

Day 6
Cuzco
Cuzco is a city enveloped in myth and legend. With a history of more than 3,000 years, it is one of the oldest existing cities in the Americas. Traces of its Incan and Spanish heritage can still be seen today. A morning city tour shows you the Plaza de Armas, and the Cathedral. We then visit the San Blas district, with its historic church and wealth of arts and crafts. We also visit several Inca ruins including the fortresses of Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay. (B, D)

Dining Highlights: Dinner tonight is at a popular local restaurant complete with Peruvian folkloric music.
Day 7
Cuzco - Puno
We head to Lake Titicaca, the cradle of the Aymaracivilisation and the birthplace of the Inca Empire. On the way we visit the highland villages of Racchi, with its interesting archaeological complex, and Andahuaylillas, known for its 7th century church, considered the 'Sistine Chapel of the Americas'. Our last stop is ancient Sillustani and its necropolis, where you can see the intriguing 'chullpas' or burial towers of the Colla people. We end the day in Puno, where our hotel overlooks Lake Titicaca. (B, BL, D)

Day 8
Lake Titicaca excursion
Set sail for a fascinating day on Lake Titicaca, first visiting one of the floating islands of the Uros. For hundreds of years the livelihood of this "water tribe" was based on the benefits of the totora reed, used to build their homes, boats and the islands they live on. Next we travel to Taquile Island and meet the Quechua-speaking locals. After lunch we return to Puno where your evening is free. (B, L)

Day 9
Puno - Lima - Ica
Depart Puno this morning and fly to Lima. Then travel along the Pan American Highway, dotted with villages and vistas of the South Pacific, to historic Ica. (B, L, D)

Lima - Ica - Nazca Lines Flight
A highlight today as we board the aircraft for a flight over the Nazca Lines - a series of drawings of animals and geometric figures etched into the parched soil thousands of years ago, some up to 1,000 feet long. After this breathtaking experience, enjoy lunch, then continue to visit the Hacienda El Catador to see how Pisco, the local wine, is distilled.We enjoy a tasting before visiting the IcaArchaeological Museum. Day 11
Ica - Ballestas Excursion - Lima
Today we board a motorboat for the Ballestas Islands, which are inhabited by a wide variety of sea mammals and exotic birds, including sea lions, boobies and Humboldt penguins. The bay\'s beautiful red and white flamingos supposedly inspired General San Martin to design the independence flag for Peru. We leave Ica, stopping for lunch at a favourite local restaurant. Later, we return to Lima for our Farewell dinner. (B, L, FD)

Day 12
Depart Lima
A free day before your late afternoon complimentary transfer to Lima International Airport for your return scheduled flight back to the UK. (B)

Galapagos Islands Extension
DAY 1 Arrive Quito, Ecuador.
Luxury private car door to door transfer to your
departure airport before your scheduled flight to Quito.

DAY 2 Quito - Baltra Island - Santa Cruz Island
Today we fly to Baltra, one of the remote Galapagos Islands. We transfer to your deluxe cruise ship, the M/V Galapagos Explorer II. This afternoon we visit Cerro Dragon (Dragon Hill) on Santa Cruz Island, a great place to spot iguanas, flamingoes, Darwin's finches, stilts, pintail ducks and flycatchers. (B L D)
DAY 3 Bartholome Island - Santiago Island
Bartholome Island is best known for its volcanic
features. After a short hike past salt bushes and cacti, we delight in the dramatic view. Next we stop in a cove with a chance for snorkeling next to Galapagos penguins, the only penguins north of the equator or perhaps ride on a glass bottom boat. This afternoon we visit Santiago Island. Keep an eye open for sea lions, marine iguanas and sally light foot crabs. (B L D)
DAY 4 Fernandina Island - Isabela Island
Today we cruise to Fernandina Island. From Punta Espinoza we walk through amangrove forest and across black volcanic rock to see marine iguanas and sea lions. This afternoon we visit Punta Vicente Roca on Isabela. This promontory is set overlooking two coves. (B L D)
DAY 5 North Seymour Island - Santa Cruz Island
North Seymour is home to sea lions, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and frigate birds. This afternoon on Santa Cruz Island, we board a coach for a tour of the highlands where giant tortoises live wild. There's also time to hike the tunnels made by cooling lava. (B L D)
DAY 6 San Cristobal - Guayaquil - Lima
We first visit the Interpretation Center, focusing on the history and wildlife of the Islands or Loberia, keeping watch for sea lions and birds. We then board the flight to Guayaquil and connect to your Lima flight. We arrive in Lima in the early evening, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (B)
