Welcome to Beijing! Upon arrival, you'll be taken directly to your luxury hotel. Your Tour Director will be on hand to greet you and answer any questions you may have about the exciting days ahead.

Day 3

Beijing sightseeing

Visit Tiananmen Square, home to the National Museum, the mausoleum of Mao Zedong and the soaring Monument to the Peoples' Heroes. Then enter the magnificent Forbidden City, the imperial palace for more than 500 years. Marvel at the exquisite Temple of Heaven. Then relax with a traditional foot massage. This evening, savor a festive Welcome Dinner of Peking duck. (BB) (L)

Day 4

Beijing sightseeing - The Great Wall

Travel outside the city and look down upon the Chinese countryside from your perch atop the Great Wall. Then walk the Sacred Way past the tombs and memorials of the emperors of the Ming Dynasty. This evening, attend a lively show of acrobatics, kung fu and dance at the Red Theater. (BB) (L) (D)

Day 5

Beijing sightseeing

Take a guided tour of the splendid Summer Palace and its lovely gardens. This afternoon, embark on a unique tour by rickshaw through the old section of the city (the Hutongs) where you join a local family for a Be My Guest Dinner in their home. Day 6

Beijing - Xi'an (2)

Fly to the city of Xi'an where you are greeted with a special royal welcome ceremony at the old city gates. This evening, enjoy a sumptuous Highlight Dinner of traditional dumplings at a local restaurant. (BB) (L) (HD)

Day 7

Xi'an Sightseeing

Marvel at the meticulously sculpted subterranean army of Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses in the tomb of Qin Shi Huang. Then ascend the city wall for a panoramic view of Xi'an. This evening, step back in time at a Tang Dynasty Highlight Dinner feast with entertainment. (BB) (L) (HD)

Day 8

Xi'an - Shanghai - Tongli sightseeing - Suzhou

Suzhou sightseeing - Shanghai (2)

Shanghai sightseeing

Discover the former international settlement of the Bund and immerse yourself in the history and culture of the atmospheric Old Town. Enjoy a delicious Dim Sum Highlight Lunch in a local restaurant. Day 11

Shanghai - Yichang - Yangtze River Cruise (4)

Rise above the city for a panoramic view from the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, and then visit the Shanghai Municipal History museum. Fly to Yichang to board your luxurious ship and begin your Yangtze cruise. (BB) (L) (D)

Day 12

Crusing the Yangtze River

Take a tour of the Three Gorges Dam, one of the world's great feats of engineering, before cruising through stunning Xiling Gorge. This evening, raise a glass at the Captain's Welcome Reception. (BB) (L) (D)

Day 13

Crusing the Yangtze River

Board a small riverboat to take a side trip to the Lesser Gorges, where misty evergreen forest drapes the sheer cliffs. Marvel at the scenery in the world-renowned Qutang and Wu Gorges as the river winds its way through the verdant landscape. (BB) (L) (D)

Day 14

Cruising the Yangtze River

Day 15

Chongqing - Guilin (2)

Bid farewell to your ship in Chongqing and take a short city tour before visiting the giant pandas at the zoo. This afternoon, fly to the lovely city of Guilin. Check in and enjoy dinner at your hotel. (BB) (L) (D)

Day 16

Guilin sightseeing

Head out for a half-day cruise on the gorgeous Li River - an inspiration to poets and painters for centuries - and spend some time exploring the pretty little town of Yangshuo. (BB) (L) (D)

Day 17

Guilin - Hong Kong (2)

Go underground to see the fantastic formations in the renowned Reed Flute Cave before visiting a traditional Chinese tea plantation and tasting the tea. This afternoon, fly to Hong Kong. (BB) (L)

Day 18

Hong Kong sightseeing and at leisure

On a lively half-day tour, see the places that have made Hong Kong famous-Victoria Peak, bustling Stanley Market and Aberdeen fishing village. The evening is yours to explore and sample Hong Kong's world-famous cuisine. (BB)

Day 19 (Door to Door)

Depart Hong Kong

Say farewell to Hong Kong as we transfer to Hong Kong International Airport for your return flight back to the UK. On arrival at your UK airport, your driver will greet you and escort you to your waiting private car for your door to door transfer to your home. (BB)
