Enjoy your private car door to door transfer to your departure airport before your flight to Casablanca, where a transfer is provided to your first hotel.

Day 2
Cairo sightseeing
After meeting your Insight Egyptologist we visit the Mohammed Ali mosque and enjoy views over Cairo from the Citadel. Next, put your bargaining skills to the test at the Khan El Khalili bazaar. We continue to Tahrir Square, focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution and visit the Egyptian Museum, housing Tutankhamun's priceless treasure and many other Egyptian artefacts. (BB)

Day 3
Cairo - Luxor - join cruise (7)
We transfer to the airport for the included flight to Luxor to walk spellbound through the avenue of sphinxes of Karnak Temple into the vast Hypostyle Hall. We then board our luxury cruise ship, one of the most stylish and spacious in Egypt. Overnight on-board in Dendera. (BB, L, D)
Day 4
Aboard the River Tosca
The temple at Dendara was built in the 1st century BC by Ptolemy VIII and then later, Roman Emperors continued to decorate it in honour of Hathor; the Goddess of maternity, love and music. As one of Egypt's best preserved temples, it contains a rare depiction of Cleopatra VII and her son Caesarian, son of Julius Caesar. After cruising back to Luxor we visit the Temple of Luxor, lost for thousands of years beneath the streets and houses of the town. (BB, L, D)
Day 5
On board The Tosca
Across the Nile to the west of the city lies the necropolis of ancient Thebes. We stop for a photo of the Colossi of Memnon, these two giant seated figures of Amenhotep III once guarded his mortuary temple. We continue to the reconstructed temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the rare female Pharaohs. In the nearby Valley of the Kings, the pharaohs planned to meet their Gods in the afterlife. After visiting some of their tombs, we return to the cruise ship and set sail for Kom Ombo. (BB, L, D)
Day 6
On board The Tosca
The Kom Ombo Temple is a beautiful sight as we approach from the river. It is uniquely dedicated to both Horus the Elder and the crocodile headed Sobek, verified by the mummified crocodile remains on display. Enjoy a visual feast as we cruise along the Nile to Aswan. We take a motorboat across the Nile to the extraordinarily well preserved temple complex of Isis, rescued from the island of Philae. Visit the High Dam and see the unfinishedobelisk still attached to the bedrock in the granite quarries. Complete the day with a cruise in a felucca sail boat around Aswan's botanic gardens. Day 7

Explore Aswan at your own pace today. Don't miss the opportunity to join the optional excursion by air to Abu Simbel to view the fabulous temples carved out of the cliffside by Rameses II and later transported in an amazing feat of modern engineering, out of the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Later we enjoy an English colonial style high tea before the sun sets in Aswan. (BB, L, D) (BB, L, D)
Day 8
On board The Tosca
We begin our return voyage along the Nile, lined by a green ribbon of fertile land, with the arid desert beyond. The river continues to play a vital role in everyday life. In scenes that have changed little for centuries, local residents swim, bathe, work and play along its shores, while water-buffalo graze in nearby fields. We overnight on-board at Edfu. (BB, L, D)
Day 9
On board The Tosca
Today we visit Edfu Temple, built on the site of the great battle between Horus and Seth. It is not only the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt, but also the second largest after Karnak.We return to the cruise and enjoy the ever-changing scenery, sailing past irrigated fields and palm-fringed villages as we float downstream to Luxor. Day 10
Luxor at leisure
We check into our famous hotel built to attract the nobility of Europe. Over the years it has been home to Howard Carter, Jane Fonda, King Farouk as well as many other crown princes and princesses. The afternoon is at leisure. (BB)

After breakfast we transfer to the airport for our included flight back to our stylish hotel in Cairo. (BB)

Day 12
Cairo sightseeing
We start the day visiting the Pyramids at Giza and their guardian Sphinx. Our guided tour includes entry into one of the Pyramids.We then continue to nearbyMemphis, capital of ancient Egypt and see the Step Pyramid of King Zoser in Sakkara, the oldest in the world, dating back to 2700 BC. We finish our day by visiting the colossal statue of Rameses II and Alabaster Sphinx. This evening we drive to the Pyramids to witness the magical Sound and Light Show, which literally illuminates the ancient history of Giza. (BB)

Day 13 (Door to Door)
Depart Cairo
The tour ends with transfers to Cairo International Airport for your return flight back to the UK. On arrival at your UK airport, your driver will greet you and escort you to your waiting private car for your door to door transfer to your home. (BB)

It is difficult to put into words the spectacular sights that we saw and the enjoyment that we had whilst in Egypt whether it be the chauffeur service to and from the airport, the transfers, the guide that we had or the crew on board the Tosca, all were excellent.
