Day 1
London - Runnymede - Salisbury - Stonehenge - Bideford
This morning we depart central London and drive to Runnymede where the Magna Carta was signed and through Windsor Great Park, catching a glimpse of Windsor Castle. We continue to Salisbury to view its magnificent cathedral, boasting the tallest church spire in Britain. We continue to Salisbury Plain to visit the ancient and mysterious monoliths of Stonehenge. Finally a drive past Lorna Doone's famous Exmoor marks our arrival in the West Country where we head to the ancient seaport of Bideford. Here we will enjoy a Welcome Drink and dinner with our Tour Director and travelling companions. (D)

Day 2
Bideford - Clovelly - Tintagel - Plymouth
Our first stop this morning will be the steeply cobbled village of Clovelly with its loveable donkeys and picturesque cottages. Then into Cornwall and via the little harbour of Boscastle to Tintagel for views of the ruined castle overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Then we enjoy a Devonshire cream tea before we make our way to the historic naval port of Plymouth. Here we see the Mayflower steps from which the Pilgrim Fathers set sail to America and the Royal Citadel overlooking Plymouth Sound. (FB)

Day 3
Cornish Excursion
Today we drive along the rugged Cornish coastline past smugglers' coves and quaint fishing villages to Land's End, the most westerly point of the British mainland. We continue to St. Ives, the famous artists' colony and British surfing paradise. Later we view St. Michael's Mount near Penzance before a drive across Bodmin Moor. During the day our Tour Director will also show us a Hidden Treasure before we return to our hotel. (FB)

Day 4
Plymouth - Bath - Bristol
We travel through the rugged Dartmoor National Park to Glastonbury where we visit the abbey ruins and see the legendary burial site of King Arthur. Then we see the mineral beauty of Cheddar Gorge before continuing to the city of Bath to visit the Roman Baths and see the magnificent Georgian architecture. We overnight in maritime Bristol where we enjoy a Farewell Dinner. (FB, FD)

Day 5
Bristol - Avebury - Hampton Court - London
First we see Avebury, Britain's most ancient stone circle. Then we stop to see the gardens of Hampton Court Palace before returning to London and bidding farewell to our Tour Director and fellow travellers as our tour comes to an end. (FB)
